Advanced Cross Flow Filtration System Integration

Advanced Micro Filtration

The Encotech EF30M Microfiltration System is a highly efficient, automated filtration system, ideal for applications that require small particle filtration with high Total Suspended Solid (TSS) loads. The System brings together the benefits of Encotech’s patented cross‐flow filtration and two integral cleaning mechanisms – ultrasonic generation and high pressure back pulsing. EF Microfiltration Systems are capable of removing particulates to below a 1 micron particle size, and are designed for ease of maintenance, long runtimes, and efficient operations; filter screens can be replaced with hand tools, if needed.

EF30L Large Particle Filtration Unit

The Encotech EF30L System combines self-cleaning filter technology with Encotech’s advanced controls and
operation strategy. The System operates automatically, with a Programmable Logic Controller monitoring flow
rates, pressure, and system outputs, ensuring ease of use and
optimal system run time. Each System is capable of filtering
particle sizes of 1cm3 down to 20 microns at a flow up to 500
gpm (12 bbl/min), depending on influent water quality.

The self-cleaning filter is designed to process a wide range of
difficult-to-treat feed waters. It is ideal as an alternative to
traditional filtration systems, with lower operating costs,
greater ease of operation and maintenance. It consistently tolerates high and highly variable Total
Suspended Solids (TSS), up to 10,000 mg/L. Water recovery is
typically greater than 99%, minimizing disposal volumes.

Each EF30L system is 103” long x 72” wide with fork tubes in both directions and weighs approximately 5,000 lbs. Each skid is equipped with an overhead hoist for easy on-site access to the filter internals. The overall height of the hoist is 145”, but can be removed if other lifting mechanisms are available at installation.
Electrical Connections:
460V/3 PH/60 Amp supply to skid panel, responsibility of customer. Estimated operational requirements of 20-25 amps per unit.

Multiple Units can be manifolded together to operate in parallel at flow rates approaching 50 bbl/min.

EF30U Ultra‐Filtration

The Encotech EF30U Ultrafiltration System is a highly efficient, automated ultrafiltration system, ideal for applications that require tight particle filtration with high Total Suspended Solid (TSS) loads.

The EF30U utilizes Tubular and Hollow Fiber cross‐flow Ultrafiltration technology to provide high flux, uninterrupted filtration
down to 0.03‐micron particle size, and is
designed for ease of maintenance, long
runtimes, and efficient operations;
membranes can be replaced with hand
tools, if needed.

Electrical Connections:
The EF30U is rated for flows up 300 gpm, depending on water quality.
Pre‐filtration may be required.
Each EF30U System is 216” long x 72” wide, with fork tubes in both directions and weighs approximately 5,000 lbs.
EF30U Membrane lifetimes are dependent on quality of water being treated and proper operation and maintenance. Encotech expects the lifespan of the membranes to be measured in years rather than months.

What is Cross Flow Filtration?

Cross-flow filtration is different from “Dead End/Barrier Filtration because:
The majority of the feed flow travels tangentially across the surface of the filter, rather than into the filter.
The principal advantage of this is that the filter cake (which can blind the filter) is substantially washed away during the filtration process.
This process increases the length of time that a filter unit can be operational. It can be a continuous process, unlike batch-wise dead- end filtration.
